Pastor Sullivan McGraw was born in Cleveland, Ohio. A retired U.S. Air Force
Captain, he has been married to Jacqueline since November 1966. They have 4 children
(Michael, Brandon, Brittney & Bethany).
Pastor McGraw has attained a B.S. degree as Physician Associate; B.S. degree in Occupational Education; and received his theological training from the Berean
University of the Assemblies of God, based in Springfield, Missouri. He is a ordained
Minister of the Gospel by the Assemblies of God, Presbyter for the Capitol Maryland
Section of the Potomac District, and church planter. The fruit of his ministry has
already spread with his first planted church, New Life South, in Waldorf, MD.
Called to full-time ministry in June 1986, he served as Associate Pastor at Evangel
Assembly in Camp Springs, Maryland, under Reverend Jack Cain, for 7 years. He
received a call to plant a church in Washington, DC in January 1994.
Glad Tidings Assembly began in his home and grew gloriously until they had to rent a school in northeast Washington, DC.
There, the church grew to over 100 attendees and attained the status of a District-affiliated church in June 1996.
In June of the same year, the District Superintendent asked Pastor McGraw to consider a merger with New Life Assembly. New Life Assembly had a similar vision to reach the inner city, but had recently lost their pastor. After much prayer, God revealed to Pastor McGraw and confirmed it through His Word that this was His will.
In January 1997, Glad Tidings Assembly merged with New Life, under the pastorship of Sullivan and Jacqueline McGraw and retained the name, “New Life Assembly.” In March 2005, the name of the church was changed to reflect the focus on worship, thus becoming “New Life Worship Center Assembly of God, Inc.” They have continued to maintain an “open-hand” ministry, serving the needs of the body and the world, going from glory to glory.
